Looking for Good Mechanic in Izmir
Hey guys!
I have sent a letter out to the community, but wanted to post here as well incase any travelers came through and found a good mechanic in Izmir, Turkey. I have an Africa Twin and by the grace of God alone I made it into town last night with it dying only 3 blocks from the apartment of my friend here. Im an idiot when it comes to bike tech, so describing the problem is difficult (but Im going to try in the bike tech section) Its missfiring a lot through and backfiring when I decelerate.
Ive been burned by a couple bad mechanics so I want to find a good one that I can trust here to work on my lady.
Thanks!

Hey Tybalt,
There are indeed some good mechanics in Izmir. I was lucky enough to spend some time when passing through Izmir last year and a friend who is a member of the HU community kindly filled me with food and alcohol and showed me his mechanic who has been working on his bike for a few years.
Great guy, very small shop but second generation motorcycle mechanic so can pretty much fix almost anything. Only downside is pretty hard to find and I could show you but couldn't give you directions. I'll e-mail my friend in Izmir and see if he is around to pass along directions or a mobile number to you. He may even see this post and respond directly to you. Meanwhile, PM me your mobile number or best way to contact you in Izmir and I'll pass these along to him as well. Cheers.

I think I share the honor of being the friend, not the mechanic, Mountain Man has referred... I sent him the contact info and told that I will also be in Izmir from tomorrow on. If he does not reach you send me a PM that I can help you in case.
Cheers and s from Izmir.

Hey Can! Thanks a lot for giving me all that really helpful information. I ended up being very lazy and just taking it to the Honda dealership which was only a few blocks from where Im staying in Bornova. They fixed it today (problem ended up being just spark plugs needed changing...though Im still a bit worried - knock on wood!)
I will save it though! I plan on being in Izmir lots over the next few years it would be great to meet up some time to ride around!
Cheers!
Tim
