OFFERED Bike transport UK to/ from South East Europe this summer

Bike transport UK to/ from South East Europe this summer

I’ll be driving a car and trailer with capacity for 2 bikes each way from the UK to South East Europe.

Route UK to BG: Midlands(ish), Dover, Calais, Belgium, NL, Germany (Duesseldorf, down the A3 motorway to Passau), transit Austria (Vienna), transit Hungary (Budapest), Romania (route through here is flexible) to Bulgaria (destination is the Veliko Tarnovo area). Setting off from the UK on 19th June (from HU meet at Baskerville), arriving in BG around 24th June (visiting family and friends en route)

Route BG to UK: BG, RO, HU, Austria, France (Bordeaux), UK. Setting off sometime between 18th and 24 August (TBC) and arriving back in the UK around 2nd September (visiting family and friends en route)

I’m driving from the UK to/from my house in Bulgaria and am looking for ways to defray my costs. I am a private individual and am not running a business. I will look after your bike like it’s my own. Last year I delivered a mate’s KTM 1190 (and riding gear/luggage) to a friendly bike workshop in Cluj in Romania. He flew there from Doncaster for £27. It saved him 3 days ride with associated costs.

If you want your bike to go all the way to/from Bulgaria, you can store it in my garage there FOC prior to local pickup/ return journey. I can also arrange airport pickups from airports like Sofia and Bucharest.

I’m looking for £150 one-way or £220 return per bike/ riding gear/luggage. Remember it'll cost me more on the ferry/Eurotunnel if I'm towing a trailer and my fuel consumption is poorer too.

Drop me a PM and we can swap phone numbers and discuss plans.

From last year’s drive. No guesses where…

Update. All spaces N to S taken (meaning my DRZ is going in the boot!) One space BG to UK via Bordeaux still available.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
