Hello,
I'm in Istanbul at the moment, probably leaving in the next few days but I've had to find a few motorbike shops too. I'm staying in Kadikoy so everywhere I've found so far is on that side of Istanbul.
There's a group of shops in this area:

And on the other side of the highway here:

I think I have those locations correct. Either way, if you end up somewhere there you'll find motorbike shops.
At the first point is a lot of gear shops, a big KTM dealer, and a few workshops. The biggest gear shop I saw was there, but I'm unsure of the name now, It's next door to the honda service place, I think it was called moto plus or something, nothing here is far from anything else though.
At the second point are some more shops mostly selling bikes, but there is some gear about too. And curiously the distributor for oxford heated grips is there too, but didn't have stock (I was looking to replace the control unit).
There are mechanics all over this area too, but I have heard workmanship is sub-par...
Ryan.

Some showcase clothings, waterproof jacket, mont, helmets available at the club and a big shop for motobike clothing about 5 km. away.We are very close to İstanbul forum shopping mall..In addition, if you find it hard to enter city center by a big bike, can keep your bike at our club garage free and do some maintaince if needed..most tools available besides welcome drinks and adventure talks..
Wish you all the best.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
