I will be traveling around romania and Bulgaria this summer. I should be there sometime in June. Not sure of my plans yet. Just pointing the bike north.

Hi,
There are quite a few recent posts about travelling to these countries to the east of here, IIRC: anyway, you don't need anything "special", assuming that you have a EU passport. Check the other threads for quite a bit of discussion about these things: trip paperwork for example.
There are lots about using ATMs for cash and what paperwork to carry with you in Europe.
Cheers,
BTW!!

Leaving the UK on 6 May and traveling towards Romania. Hope to spend a couple of weeks in that area then heading further east towards Ukraine (you need a visa for the Ukraine).
Welcome to join us along the way.
Regards
Mick

Sounds like a great trip. Does anybody else have good tips / ideas for roads and towns in romania (particularly western half).
I'm going to be there in August. We want to get to Pitesti (still figuring out how to get there from sarejevo!). It's about our halfway point where I will turn north and back west. Wanting to stay on the black stuff as I don't think my bike will survive for long off-road!
Searching around everywhere, finding links here and there, but first person advice always the best (and i'm new around here!).

Romania / Bulgaria
Hi all you folks planning to head this way next year.
If you are going to be camping or caravanning, you might like to come and see us, we're an English-run campsite in southern Bulgaria.
For those of you possibly looking for property, prices are really low down here.
Please look us up on Home or for a detailed report on this area and what it has to offer, look at MagBaz Travels
Best wishes,
Martin T. Jeffes.
Sakar Hills Touring Park,
Harmanli,
Bulgaria.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
