Rostock to Berlin

Me and my brother are going on a short trio down to Berlin and Rostock and are wondering if there are any nice roads/places in the area between Rostock and Berlin. Don't want to do any autobahn driving.

As always - many roads lead to Rome...

A nice trip would be along the coast to Ahrenshoop, Prerow, Stralsund (town centre) and on minor roads to the Mueritz NP.

Alternatively go straight for Schwerin and eastwards to Dobertin/Goldberg and through the NPs on the way. Of course on minor roads again. The lake district is quite scenic.

Last year

I went from Rostock to Berlin last year and by letting my Tomtom avoid the autobahn I had a very nice trip. You can read about it on my website.
This is the page about the Rostock-Berlin part of my trip:

Thanks for the info guys. I was a bit afraid that the roads would be gray and boring in former east Germany but from jkrijts pictures it seems very nice to drive around there. I once took the autobahn to Berlin from Hamburg by car and it wasn`t very exiting, but Berlin as a city was very nice.
Hopefully we will be going on the 30th april, but I might have to go offshore in the North Sea instead and do some work .

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
