Storage in Europe/Germany?
Hi,
I'm shipping my KTM from the US to Europe to travel down through Africa. I was thinking of shipping it mid Sept (07), stopping at Sommer to get a check up and then down to Morocco to start my trip. Turns out I have some meetings all around Europe for a week or two, at exactly the same time. Does anyone have any suggestions about storing the bike for up to two weeks? I want to fly to Frankfurt or Paris, leave the lady, go do my stuff and then pick her up. I used to have the name of a place in Germany but I seem to have lost it. Does anyone know if I leave it at Sommer, will they hold it for that period?

This is your man

he speaks good english and may be able to help with insurance and a place to stay when you arrive.
I think he runs an advert here on the HUBB.

Not France or Germany but you are welcome to use my garage for a couple of weeks. I am about 20km south of Antwerp in Belgium. I'm about 40 minutes drive from Brussels in case you are looking at airports and about 2 1/2 hours from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. I've got secure a secure garage and a good range of tools in case you need and last minute adjustments.
Let me know if you need the space - cost will be a couple of s - I warn you in advance !!
Cheers

Gecko,
Thank you very much. That's very extremely enormously generous, although very greedy and rude with the .
I’ve gotten a reply from Stefan and from Sommer KTM and it seems like the easiest and closest combination to Frankfurt airport. I might take you up on your offer on my way down to Africa. I’ll be in touch.
Amazing website. How'bout tracks in Africa!
Cheers,
David

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
