Couldn't find any reliable information but from this appears that ukrainian authority has closed loophole and trying to clamp down on vehicles with EU plates (apparently locals ran cars on foreign plates to avoid paying draconian importation tariffs) so I'm guessing the situation there should be difficult. I had no issues back in 2019 but I spent only 4 days there.

IMO considering how flat most of ukraine is and situation in southeast + crimea crossing being off for foreigners I would take turkey route and leave bike in georgia. Much better riding including north caucus in russia.. and if that doesn't attract you there's a ferry from azerbaijan to Kazakhstan.
