I have an opportunity to spend 2 weeks in Europe form next week.
Can anyone reccomend somewhere to hire a bike at a reasonabLe cost.
Not really fussed but 650-800 with luggage etc.
Any info appreciated.

The words 'Zurich' and 'reasonable cost' don't belong in the same sentence, they are mutually exclusive.
Having said that, you might want to try Honda Motos Zurich West. This is the dealer I have used for many years to service my ST 1300. They are absolutely trustworthy and pleasant to deal with, and you can be assured that the bike you get will be in excellent condition.
But, being in Switzerland, they are not cheap. The link I provided above will take you to their rental page, which shows daily and weekend rental rates. I don't know for sure if they rent for longer periods than that, you will need to inquire.
I suggest that you contact them in writing (via email, their email address is on the website) rather than phone. The folks there speak English sufficiently well to meet face to face, but perhaps not sufficiently well to do a complicated transaction over the phone.

Get in touch with Ernes Euromotos, a local triumph dealer and client of mine in Zurich. He has some bikes on rent (new triumph range). They are more or less fluent in English.
If you want someting special you could get an oldtimer from the English MCC, approx 30min from Zurich. He's a nice guy and the vintage bikes are fantastic. But not for everyone...

Moto Mader in Oberentfelden (approx 30 mins by train from Zurich) has probably got the largest rental bike pool in Switzerland. They will pick you up at the railway station and have everything for rent, from gloves over helmet to bikes with all kind of luggage systems.
Happy days

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
