10th Anniversary of HU Meetings in Australia! 26-29 September 2013 in Dayboro
The 2013 Australia Meeting is back in Dayboro for the 2013 event, and registration is open! Date is: Thursday 26 September to Sunday morning 29 September 2013!
We are also now accepting applications from presenters for putting on a talk; it can be on any bike related travelling topic. Last year we had our most diverse range of topics ever, with some fantastic shows and inspiring talks. To help planning the event we need your application forms in early please!
Some ideas on what YOU COULD present!
We are also looking for volunteers as usual! We had an excellent crew last year doing a range of activities. It takes help from volunteers to put on the meeting and this year we'll need a few more. When you register for the event you'll have an opportunity to volunteer, and we'd greatly appreciate it if you'd help out for just a few hours. It's a GREAT way to meet people too!
Since it's the 10th Anniversary event, we want to make it special, and we're working on that too - more details as we know them.

I have put the dates in my calendar, so hopefully I will be able to make it again next year. There was talk at this years meet of a southern meeting is there any likely hood of that happening?

Shane
I was thinking about going to both but they will be to close together and I will have used up all of my leave on my trip to Ireland in June (not on the bike). I will go to the Vic one if it is on if not the Dayboro one.
Cheers

Hi guys
I'm planning on going to both, as being based in Sydney its about equal distance and a great excuse to take some well earned leave and make a road trip via some places i'd never otherwise go to :-)
I'd like to offer my services as volunteer for everything Audio/Visual again and help Shane so he can focus on organizing another amazing event.
Also, i'd be very happy to offer myself up as a presenter again. I have only been riding for 2 years so i swapped my Saturday spot to the Sunday but it seemed to go well (feedback very welcome). My presentation was on Traveling with technology, happy to share the PPT with anyone.
Cheers
Steve

Thanks Steve! I think Shane has already contacted you, and registration for everything is now open, so go for it!
(It makes it a LOT simpler for us if everyone actually registers for what they want to do, instead of relying on our memories - always a bad idea! )

I won't be able to make this one but will be going to the one in Vic. I won't have enough leave to be able to attend both with them being so close together.

Rides and things to do when coming to Dayboro Meet
Hi everyone.
For those of you coming to the Dayboro meeting, I thought that we might start compiling a list of rides and things to do up here.
So here is a start:
Visit the Mary Valley, the area due north of the Sunshine Coast. A good resource for Mary Valley is this web site:
Mary Valley Country | Home Page
and specific advise about trail bike riding can be found at:

Rides from nearby town - Hampton
Hi guys,
Found this page about soft 4WD drives from a small town called Hampton; which is about an hours drive/ride from Dayboro. You could ride to Hampton and then do these rides or reverse some of them. I'm going to try some on my DR in the next few weeks, weather permitting. The link is:
Soft 4WD
I know area reasonably well and it is a great place to ride.
Regards,
Shane

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
