Hi all, back home safe and sound again and I would just like to thank the organizers and helpers for an excellent meeting, the best yet with a stack of things to do.
The vendors certainly added an extra dimension but of course the presentations and break out sessions were the main attraction. I certainly learned some things that will be very useful and I hope I passed on some useful stuff as well, even if it was only entertainment, eh Danielle
I took some photos, so those who could not make it can get some idea of what went on, although these are the ones for public viewing,
SATURDAY

SUNDAY

An interesting part of the concept was a panel of experts answering questions on the Sunday night, (an EXPERT= X is an unknown quantity and a SPURT is a drip under pressure), this seemed to go down well and was pretty informal and I think it worked quite well. I am looking forward to next years, although I must have missed out on the location of that if it was ever mentioned.
Cheers

Is that a volunteer to take on organising next years meeting at another location? Thanks Richard!
I enjoyed the weekend, that Postie bike certainly is a chick magnet!!!
Well done everyone, we had a great team of helpers that made the weekend a lot easier. Thanks everyone

Great to hear all these positive comments. If anyone has any negatives or ideas about the weekend I would also like to hear them, so that it can be passed on for future meetings.
As far as I am concerned it seemed to be a great success and the best part is we raised over $2000 for the kids at camp quality. Well done to everyone that turned up.

I had a fantastic time at my first HU meeting. I am looking forward to attending many more in future years with hopefully some of those being overseas.
Thanks to the organisers and presenters you did a fantastic job.

My first HU meeting, thanks to the organisers and presenters, and the interesting people I spoke with. Hopefully make it to the next Oz meeting, wherever it is

I also want to add my thanks to everyone (both organisors and presentors) for a fantastic event - it was everything I had hoped it to be; both inspirational and educational.
I only wish I could remember all the good advice and snippets of wisdom I heard over the weekend. But really the most important outcome for me was realising I can do it by myself and with the minimum of fuss - so I'm now planning the Vladivostok to Europe for mid next year.

Great to hear that everyone had a good time and it all went well!
Thanks to you all for coming, and we hope to see you at a Meeting ourselves on day.
And a very big thanks to Danielle, Guy, Glen, and a host of others who made it all possible! Also to the presenters who put on an amazing list of presentations, well done!
We have a ton of great photos which will be posted over the next couple of days.
We're working on next year, trying for one in the south and one in the north, so keep an eye on the meetings index page and of course the ezine for news as we work it out.
all the best, Grant and Susan

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
