Hi Jens,
since I am back in Germany and hzad some trouble with lost keys, corrupt policemen I would like to make workshop about "2nd set of keys, documents, important items and where to store them"
Especially the last part is not less important than just having the stuff with you. A key inside the bike, that you can not access after the main one is lost will drive you mad and nuts, especially in a country where nobody speaks your language and neither English....
Also about carring cash money for emergency and how to split and hide it, the same for a spare credit card and sth. more...
Looking forward to the meeting
Alex

Hi guys,
a lot of people ask why we organized this training during the week...
The training will be from tuesday evening till thuresday morning.
Training day is wednesday, incl. 2 overnights(dinner and breakfast)
Thursday morning all participants can ride together to the HU Germany Meeting - so it is like a short vacation!
Hope to see you there, I still have to make my bike running...
Maybe I will take a Vespa!

Grant and Susan are coming to HU Deutschland!
Wir kommen an die HU Deutschland Sommertreffen! Wir hoffen, Sie dort zu sehen!
We're very pleased to tell you that Grant and Susan will be at the HU Germany summer meeting, and hope to catch up with old friends and see many of you there! Here's our spring/summer travel plans:
We will be flying from Canada to France to attend the Touratech France Travel Event in Orange 23-25 May.
We are borrowing a bike from Touratech and riding from France to Ober-Liebersbach for the HU Germany meeting 29 May-1 June.
We will be in Niedereschach for the Touratech Germany Travel Event 13-15 June.
We'll ride from Germany to the UK for HUBB UK 19-22 June.
After that, plans are still uncertain, but we expect to be in Garmischfor the BMW Motorrad Days 4-6 July, before returning to Canada!
We are very excited about it all, especially Grant since he has not ridden a bike for three years!
Hope to see you somewhere in Europe...

When I saw the dates in the just received e-newsletter, I was thrilled. We have a motorcycle (R1200GS) stored in Heidelberg and we are planning to be there on 5/27, so this HU gathering fits perfectly in our schedule as we begin the next phase of our European travels.
If there would be any interest in our sharing what it's like to do touring in this fashion (store a bike somewhere return to ride it multiple times), I would be glad to do a session. Perhaps this would be best suited to present people in the US or Canada at another event.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
