Germany Autumn 2010, HU Travellers Meeting Open now
Germany, 29 Oct - 1 Nov 2010
Full details and Registration open now!
Pretty little hills, dark forests, romantic villages and perfect motorcycle roads! If you have never been there – you will love it! A ride in the morning – an afternoon coffee somewhere in an ancient castle and then back to our campground... what else do we need?
Lots of conversation and good German of course! And travel talks and technical clinics to top it all off.
And you might want to dress warm... and a warm sleeping bag!
See you there!

That would be fantastic!
And how about doing a quick slide show of your trip for us? Or if that's too soon, how about for the Spring 2011 Meeting?
Don't forget to send us a few words for the ezine in the meantime, and get famous!
See you there!

Hi Grant,
Everything is organised, I will be able to arrive directly to the meeting . Would be happy doing a slide show but I cannot promise doing a perfectly styled slideshow as coming directly to the meeting - will pick a few good pictures and show them to you.
See you at the meeting

I have booked my space - I thoroughly enjoyed the company of my German friends at the Italian meet and I hope that I can meet up with you all again. Mark (Bushman) might also be coming along.

I hope I can make this meet and let me tell you why.
I attended this meet twice and found it to be so friendly and enjoyable, because it was just the atmosphere of Ripley as it was a few years ago. And that's unique. I love the Ripley meet, but next to it, I like this one. It's so relaxed, it's in lovely country with good people (buy the farm-made apple cider/wine nearby from local people,) who are so welcoming. The people who attend are fascinating, including a young woman who was going to bike to Siberia and come back by horse! and the Dutchman on his diesel bike who did HUGE distances in the 'Stans before his frame broke! That's the kind of people who come here. But most were normal punters who take the trips we can, and all the more welcome for that.
As many of us know, Germany and its people are great: you will enjoy the ride to get there if you're from the UK. (I found NorfolkLine the cheapest) I was very tired when I got to the French/Belgian border a bit later than I meant to, so I slept under a bush on a motorway lane divider which hid my bike and me, I thought. Cops came in the night but were so nice, just saying, go in the morning, will you? Of course!
If you've free time you can stop at the Bikers Loft Motel near Bruges, Belgium, (rooms, rock bands)on the way back. If you're just beginning to travel on your bike, then you couldn't do better than to come here - you'll be among friends. I threw a sickie to ride here and have a good time at Oberliebersbach. So can you! Bugger work - get a life!!!!

Just registered for the autumn meeting. Last year kicked so much ass that there's absolutely no way we'd miss it this year. We'll also be giving a talk / presentation of our trip to the Shetland islands, the northernmost point of the United Kingdom (Das eingezäunte Land. No pay, no picture). It'll have photos of sheep in it. And Ponys. And sheep. And cows. And sheep. And a crazy Frenchwoman. Also: sheep.
Can't wait, see y'all there

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
