Smile Update!

Had a great time at the Touratech event in Niedereschach. The weather held, there were thousands of people here! Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth. We also saw some old friends - Filippo & Heike Fania, who were in Australia not too long ago, Andreas Huelsmann, Werner Zwick, many others. Lots of folks came to our presentations and even stayed awake for it all! Thanks to Touratech for inviting us!

Slight change of plans - we are leaving today (Monday) for Calais, to be there by Tuesday night. We decided we did not want to do 725 km in one day, so we'll do it in two days instead, which will give us an opportunity to ride some nice roads instead of motorway all the way!

We still plan to be on the 09:00 Wednesday ferry to Dover, see you on the way to Donington!

Smile Dover to Donington

Belated thanks to all who turned out on a drizzly day in Dover to welcome us back to England and ride with us to Donington for HUBB UK! Much appreciated!

Smile HUBB UK - We were there!

Sam Manicom summed it up:
"The HUBB UK 2014! We couldn’t have wished for it to go off much better than it did. Not only did we have the sun with us, but as always there was an amazing atmosphere. 17 different nationalities arrived at the HUBB UK, and the fun, fascination and over 150 sessions of presentations and demonstrations rolled out from day 1. If you were there, brilliant, thanks for coming. If you were involved in anyway; from being there as a fan of overlanding, to helping make it happen, or if you missed it this time around, this link will take you to a taste of the 2014 HUBB UK."

We (G&S) had a great time, talked till we were hoarse to anyone who would listen, and by Saturday everybody we saw was smiling, so that's a success!

Our thanks to all the presenters, volunteers and everyone who came. Events are our main source of income, so we really appreciate the support!

Smile Barcelona and the Alps

After a nice ferry ride to Spain from Plymouth, we had a chance to revisit Barcelona, one of our favorite cities! We met Vicente Jiménez, John Stewart and some nice folks at Touratech Store Barcelona.

Although we presented in English, we had help with translation, and most folks listened politely for over 2 hours to our rambling. Muchas gracias! We hope to have an HU Travellers Meeting in Spain for 2015!

Now in the Alps and the BMW Motorrad Days in Garmisch this weekend. This is the last event on our Europe schedule. Hope to see you there!

Cheers,
Grant & Susan

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
