2 months away

I'm with Dakota, it would be nice to know a bit more two months out:-

Dates (25/26 Aug)/venue fixed or likely to vary, that kind of thing.

Will talks / presentations be in English or Portugese or a mixture or something completely different ?
Thank you.

Grant: Portugal, some information please.

Grant,

The Portugal meet is next month, yet there is still no registration or information available - but registration for events happening after Portugal are already open and being actively promoted.

May I on behalf of the myself and others ask the following questions again:

1. Is the meet definitely on?
2. What languages will the presentations be in?
3. What presentations are scheduled?
4. What are the GPS co-ordinates?

I am sure that you will appreciate that many travellers need to book ferry crossings, arrange their holiday, etc. and early answers to these questions will help them make their arrangements as soon as possible.

Incidently have any members already booked their crossing for the Portugal Meet?

Sorry for the delays folks! I'm getting there, really...

YES the meeting is on!! WE will be there. Reg will open shortly. I'm working on the page now. The presentations are mixed - English and Portugese - there's translators available as needed.

Anyone going from the UK via France then?

Also, what kind of numbers are likely to attend Portugal?

TIA

Portugal

Hi Graham,

Heard of any others that might take that route? I've got 2 weeks of hols available. How long do you think it might take to get there? Not too slow but not at full pelt either?

I've been looking for something like this for a while and let's face it apart from today it looks like one way of getting some sun

Cheers

Nick

I'm going to Portugal. I'm probably going via Plymouth/Santander on the Wednesday ferry. Then coming back up to Zeebrugge for the Hull ferry on the Thursday after the rally.

cost

So,

Plymouth - Santander or

Cheap crossing to Calais and ride.

Which would be cheaper? Quicker? More fun?

Cost is the biggie but the other factors need thinking about too...

Cheers

Santander route

mmm...the downside of the Santander route is that you have to take a ferry midweek...doesn't that make for bad use of holiday time?

One route or the other I'm very positive about attending. Can't say it's definite as yet for family reasons but I'm sure they can be sorted out. not sure what to expect but I need a break and this trip fits the bill. might pick up a few pointers for the South America thing I have in mind too.

Anyone been to one of these meets before?

Cheers

Nick

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
