Just wondering if there will be camping availability if I arrive on Thursday?
Is it too late to buy meal tickets?

My plan is to leave Santa Clarita early Thursday morning and be rolling thru Ojai and up the 33 by about 8am or so. If you go that way keep an eye out for a white Dakar with orange pelican boxes. Thatll be me.
Thinking for the fun of it 33, 166, Soda Lake road, 58, and into Paso Robles.
Edit - Scratch that. Fork seal blew out this morning. Going to get it fixed Thursday morning so wont be rolling until probably 9ish.

That would (would have) been a good ride. Are you sure it blown and not just dirty (easy fix)? Let me know if things change. I'm ready to roll

Yeah its blown. Went for a ride this morning and its puking down the fork leg. Getting that fun wobble in the front too. Talked to BMW in THousand Oaks. Im going to get there early and have the leg off waiting for them to open at 8. Hopefully they'll be able to get it done and Ill be out of there before 9.
What time were you planning on rolling out and which way were you thinking of heading?

It's going to be tight, so we are asking all campers to squeeze up! We expect around 40-50 more people than last year.
Meal tickets - email me and let me know for sure, 5 or 8 meals. Pay on arrival immediately!

too late?
Hey folks,
There is no information on the site about late registration or arrival.
Is it possible to show up on Friday afternoon and partake in the activities even if I missed the Oct. 18th deadline?
Cabin space? Camping? Meal tickets?
This would be my first year and I'm hoping there is still space available.
Thanks,
rage

No problem! Unless we specifically say CLOSED to showing up on the day, just come. The reg page says "There is space, so you can check in when you get there!"
We have to close online reg so we can give the venue numbers, print pages and registration forms etc.
Meal tickets may be an issue - there is limited number, but if you send me a mail and confirm a 5 or 8 meal package we can add you to the list TODAY, past that we have limited spares for on the day sales.
Food is readily available 10 minutes away.
see you there!

Thanks and Photos
Huge thanks once again to everyone who supported the raffle at Cambria to raise funds for The Ted Simon Foundation and to those of you who came along to my presentation on Friday afternoon and to Ted's on Saturday evening.
It was a real pleasure to meet so many well-travelled and friendly folk and to make some great new friends. A very memorable location and a fantastic four days. Well done to Flip, Craig, Jason and the rest of the team.
Here's a link to some photos from the event.

I hope you're having a great ride somewhere and brilliant autumn weather - or even better on your way south! We're in Germany at the moment, where the weather is much colder than California, but the welcome was also warm!
We want to thank all those who came to this years event for making the HU California event so great! The meetings help to keep the website going and a roof over our heads, and we really appreciate your support. We were also very happy to re-connect with old friends and make new ones!
Big thanks to all the presenters for the entertainment, inspiration and information, especially those who came a long way! Muchas gracias to Flip, Allen, Craig, Bill, Nicole, Dave, Jason, the setup crew and all the volunteers for their hard work in making it happen! Special thanks to Ted, who continues to inspire us all.
We will be opening registration for 2014 in the next few weeks as soon as we get back and final details are nailed down, but mark your calendars for Sept. 25-28, 2014. We will send a note when registration is open, and as usual, early bird rates will apply!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
