I would love to make it to the event, but it will be a last minute thing due to other issues. Is there last minute registration and campsites available?
Thanks,
Rocky

Absolutely! Camping is NO issue - we have the entire campsite - and registration at the door is fine.
See you there!

Thanks for the info Grant. I live just a few miles from Kimberley so would be coming over the Grey Creek pass, across the lake on the ferry, up to Kaslo and over the twisty bit of 31A into New Denver and then up the road into Nakusp. It will make for a nice ride and a good chance to sort out my new Uly.

To register, or not
Can anyone help me out with regards to registering, or not, when on an extended trip?
We would like to attend, and are happy to present, however our attendance, given we'll be coming from NY, is not certain.
At this stage, I would put us at a 77.3% attendance certainty; do we register and risk a no show (but inform Grant as soon as possible if that's the case), or wait until the last minute?
Which one is preferable, given our situation?
Thanks, Rob.

Hi Rob,
I normally book last minute before the 'cut off' as my work schedule is constantly changing and Im on call 24/7 with a rescue team.
In your situation Id probably turn up last minute, but its your call.
Grant and Susan have been doing HUBB meetings long enough to understand if you cant make it, 'shit happens' when you are on the road, if you cant make it, it would be polite to let them know with a quick email if you are presenting so they can fill the space with another presentation or workshop

Here's a thought: why not continue up hwy31 past Kaslo, through Meadow Creek and the unsaved section up to Trout Lake City, which allows you to then loop back down to Nakusp. Awesome little route.

As Gipper said, but if you're presenting there are issues - we may have a full schedule, we may have lots of space for more, it's hard to say. We really need to be 98.7% sure to put you on the schedule. So, best I guess, is 2 weeks out, register to present if you're confident you'll be there. If not just register on the day if you make it, and ask if there's room for another presentation or two.
Hope to see you there!

First Timer
Hello fellow travelers,
This HU meet has caught my attention and now a goal for my first trip back on my bike after breaking my leg in Dec 2013. Hopefully I am not being over ambitious as re-joining my Tiger 800XC in Ft Lauderdale, FL next week and it looks like a bit of a haul all the way up there! However, enthusiasm will prevail.
Excited and looking forward to my first HU Meet (I'd better get that routing finalized).

See everyone soon. We won't make it for Thursday so save us a spot.
Now the struggle to pick the appropriate vehicle to get there.........
Happy Trails,
Miles

I'm on the way!
Sorting out a few handling problems with the G/S but it's running well.
Anyone planning on being around Glacier NP in the week before let me know and we can ride together - that way I've got someone else to blame whan I get lost.

We just came up through there. Not sure getting lost is much of a risk...unless you mean getting lost in the views .
We're on our way to Alaska and maybe the Dempster if weather allows, then back down for the meeting.
Have fun on your ride.

Getting there..........
Well, new tires last Wednesday week ago, service at Triumph Miami on Thursday and departed Miami on Friday. Have made it Badlands, SD earlier today. Impressive.
Heading towards Yellowstone tomorrow and then up to Canada. So looking good to make the meet.
OzMatt, I will be keeping an eye out for you.
Happy riding.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
