HU 13th North Carolina meeting Oct 6-9 2016
It's back! Perfect time of year - lovely temps and fall colors! Southern hospitality provided by uber-host Mike Kilpatrick, assisted by Steve Anderson, John and Charlene and the team at Ironhorse Motorcycle Lodge. Great riding in the Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway and Blue Ridge Parkway.
Typical comment: "Big thanks to Mike & Steve for putting together such a wonderful event! All the heart & soul you put into it gave us a platform to chillax & connect in so many ways. Thanks for setting the tone & keeping the ball rolling."

Have just registered for the HU North Carolina October meeting. Stayed at Iron Horse on July 20, 21, & 22. Fabulous venue and great food. Reserved my campsite before I left. Looking forward to going back, learning from the presenters, volunteering, and riding the great roads in N.C.

I am considering riding down to NC from MA. Will day passes be available for folks that just show up the day of the event who do not require camping but may want to attend the days activities?

In and paid. I won't be presenting this year but feel free to ask about Alaska or Mexico if you see me. I have a great "Transito" story!

I am already in, but was not able to get a bunk reserved for the week. If anyone has room, or looking for a few extra bucks and would let me crash out on their floor, that would be great. I am bringing my tent, and have a bunk for Wednesday night, but would rather have a real roof.

Anyone up for a ride on Friday?
I was thinking about taking heading taking the Tail of the Dragon/Cherohala loop with some dirt/gravel. I'll get on the Tail of the Dragon first before it gets too busy (Stop at the store first). Loop down to Telico Plains via 360 and get lunch. Then jump on the Cherohala Skyway. Instead of all of the Cherohala, we can hit some dirt/gravel by heading down River Road (FR210 Paved) to Upper River Road (FR217) and then Wagon Train/Stewart Cabin Road (FR81) back to the Cherohala and then back to Iron Horse.
I'll be on a Super Tenere, so I won't be doing anything crazy.

No word back from Deckyon. I have a semi-private cabin Thurs/Fri/Sat nites, two twins, with a riding partner who is not coming. Looking to have a roommate to split costs. $130 for the three nights. Best contact is cell 239-910-3913 text or call.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
