USA California 2015 Meeting at Yosemite, Sep 24-27
We're back to a great location - the Mariposa fairgrounds just outside of Yosemite National Park that boasts gorgeous rides from every direction, like the famed Tioga Pass.
Lots of camping space, several large presentation rooms, stadium space for demos, a garden for socializing and late night HU fun, and a very friendly town!
Flip Morton and Nicole Espinosa are the local hosts for this event, ably supported by Craig Haggart and Bill Miner.
Online registration is open now! Early bird rates until Jan 31, 2015!

Roaming Dingoes
By then we should have completed a 115 day 28,000 mile US round trip. We should get the bike perfectly clean for return to Australia and with everything checked in and our return flight on the 3rd October, we hope get a hire car and to drop in to the Forum before flying home.

Place to receive parts and work on your bike in SF
Hi all,
With the HU meeting California meeting coming up next month, I wanted to put out an offer for travelers who are going to be in the area just before or after.
I am a HU member based in San Francisco. I belong to a local co-op/club/community/workspace called Piston & Chain. More details at Piston & Chain's web site or facebook.com/pistonandchain . We're basically in downtown SF (SoMa) with several motorcycle shops nearby and with easy access to the visitor-y spots.
1285 Folsom St., San Francisco, CA 94127
https://goo.gl/maps/nk1oC
The club would like to make the following offer:
- Full access to the workshop, including tools, oil disposal, tire changing machine, lifts, air compressors, etc for 2 days
- Overnight storage inside the shop for 2 nights (locked and alarmed)
- Receiving services - have any parts/tires/bits sent here and we'll hold them for you at least until HU California or shortly afterwards
Cost: $40 (this is a reduced rate against the usual visitor+storage or monthly fees)
Note - I have no financial interest in the club other than being a member.
Please email me at dpifko@socialnav-inc.com or call/text at +1 650-207-1999 if you're interested.
Happy riding,
Daniel

That's annoying. I'm going to be in the area but have to be in LA on the Saturday so I'll miss the Yosemite free day. We'll be up around the area of the meet on the Sunday but not much point in calling in then as, presumably, everyone else will be leaving.

Riding up from Murrieta on Thursday
I'm in Murrieta (between San Diego and Riverside). I'm planning on riding up on Thursday up 395 through Yosemite to Mariposa. Anyone want to ride along?

I'll be coming from Utah. I'll likely come via US 50 across Nevada to Carson City, then 395 south to the 120
This is my first HU event.

Looking forward to another great event and seeing old friends.
I can video the moto skills workshop Jimmy Lewis is doing again if you like.
I had also planned on presenting a two week fly and ride I did in Bolivia as an example of what's attainable by most of us who work for a living. If that's still something you have room for, then great.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
