Viedma meet and lodging in Buenos Aires
Two expats (Spain and USA) here in BA interested in December meet in Viedma and then heading south.
Please advise, maybe everyone is waiting for everyone else to establish where and when?
Until time to leave for Viedma meet, Hubbers passing through Buenos Aires are welcome to very safe temporary parking for bikes and private entrance/safe kitchen apt with private bath for "overnighters" in Recoleta.
For those returning to BA we can work a deal for renting apt/parking during December and after. Please arrange your visits in advance. thanks ........ Elisa and Ed xfiltrate

HU Argentina Meeting
Hi All
I asked Oscar Knecht (who organises the meeting) and he tells me that it is over the weekend of 8/9 December. You can get there as early as you want and camp by the river. Where else can you sit around a map with motorcycle travel legends telling you all about the road of bones .......................?
Not to be missed!
Regards, Mick

Viedma
Thanks Mick, we will be at the river on or before or after 8/9 December. Two bikes, two expats (Spain and USA) and a tent, so far.... Is there need to do anything, except get there? Any particular spot on the river? GPS coordinates maybe?
I am ready to be on the road again. Cities are fine, especially Buenos Aires, but a few weeks on the open road are always better than months anywhere. All are invited to give us a call when passing through Buenos Aires... cell # 15 6811 1125 thanks again xfiltrate

I think if you check the 2005 Viedma meeting info you'll find more details, including GPS coord's for the campground.
Except, I think Grant may have just updated the meetings page because the links to prior year events are gone.
Someone with more time could do a search perhaps.

ah...its back - here's from the 2005 page:
http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/mee...entina2005.php
GPS co-ordinates: 41º 03.167' W 62º 49.805' - this is for Los Trentinos
Note that your map may say "Balneario Massini" for those coordinates. Whatever, it's at the mouth of the Rio Negro.
Viedma is right on the main highway heading south from Buenos Aires. Hard to miss! You shouldn't have a problem finding the campsite once you get there, just ask for the "campground by the river". Phone Oscar for information if you have trouble. 02920-424096.
(don't know that the above phone # is valid or not - from 2005)

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
