HU Ireland Travellers Meeting May 28-30 2010
From the newsletter, "Ireland (North) - 28-30 May, 2010. Liam McIlhone and Drew Millar are organising this event near Enniskillen."
This sounds like an excellent excuse for my first ever visit to Northern Ireland. Is there any more information available? I would be very happy to help with a couple of presentations.

thanks very much Tim, consider yourself one of the headline acts!
detailed info to follow shortly (n.b. detailed and shortly are Irish terms whose origins have been lost in the mists of time and whose current meanings are somewhat elastic).

Drew
Could you not have picked at a weekend that wasn't my wedding anniversary.....
I wish you the best of luck with the event and if for any reason the date changes....I will be there.
steve
PS For those who don't know....
"Keek"... Norn Iron for "shite"
"Norn Iron".... Northern Irish for "Northern Ireland"

what an opportunity! - you can celebrate your wedding anniversary in Co Fermanagh, one of the loveliest places on earth. You could start at the HU meeting and finish with a cruise on Lough Erne. At the meeting we'll reserve the most scenic corner of the field for your tent and lay on some haunting Irish music to help the romance along (or we could get a Lambeg drummer if you're a Prod).
An anniversary she'll remember until the day you divorce - don't miss your chance.

I'm interested in attending this. Is there some kind of list? If so, can you put my name on it, please.

Sorry for delay in replying. There should be a registration page up soon on the meetings section (left hand side Events..Meetings) Keep an eye out there.
Currently Drew and I are focusing on the key areas of organizing the meeting such as that there are ample guaranteed supplies of guinness! We are still at the sampling stage because we want to get it right!!

How about an Spaniard joining the meeting?
It´s been a long time ago since I rode to Ireland and Isle of Man.
May could be as wet and good as any other month.
I wrote then a very good story about the survivors of the Spanish Armada. Captain de Cuellar was an overlander of those times.
And how about Robert and Joe Dunlop? Crazy bike heroes of Northen Ireland.
I miss Hibernia, but not the rain.

Ola Miguel.
A Spaniard attending Horizons Ireland meeting? You are more than welcome..might even buy you a guinness. There is a long tradition of Spaniards coming to Ireland (Armada etc!!) so if you are looking for an excuse, now you have one.
Sadly Robert and Joey are no longer with us but the Dunlop dynasty continues on the road racing circuit over here with the next Dunlop generation.
Registration page for the meeting should be appearing in the meetings section of Horizons in the New Year and I hope you can make it over. Why not link it into a trip round Donegal and the west coast of Ireland. Sure you know it makes sense!!

Thanks for the offer of help Slim100. Reg page is not yet set up but spread the news to anyone you think might be interested.
You have been added to the "help" list and I look forward to catching up with you again. In Drew's words "you may regret that offer of help!!"

New to all this malarkey, but more than happy to help anyway I can.
In Belfast however know Enniskillen and area extremely well.
Are you planning around Castle Archdale or roughing it somewhere else? I could certainly suggest a big field with a good bar and BBQ beside it, down towards Clones.
Take it easy.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
