Do you have good PC skills?
A member of the volunteer Presentation Crew has had to drop out at the last minute for family reasons, so I'm looking for someone - or ideally a couple of people - to take his place.
The Presentation Crew volunteers make sure all the presentations run smoothly and on time, taking care of the laptops and gadgets so the presenters can just concentrate on presenting. It's a vital role and guarantees a front-row seat
If you've already registered to attend, but haven't volunteered for any crews, and if you have decent PC skills and fancy lending a hand, I'd really appreciate your help.
Here's the link to volunteer....
Thanks

I just came across this shot from the 2013 Slow Bike Race. If you didn't have a go last year then don't miss it this year.
Brilliant fun, to take part in and to watch! And, we have just lined up some cracking prizes for the winners.
Have a look at the Schedule to see when the Races are on. Below 550cc and the other race is above 550. Can you take part in both if your bike IS 550cc? Now there's a question
Race? Well of course, the last person across the line, without having strayed from their lane or putting their foot down, wins!

Competitions? Again for 2014 we are going to have Competitions for Motorcycles, Expedition Vehicles and for Bicycles. 3 categories in each but we aren't spilling the beans on what those are, just yet.
They will give you the chance to draw attention to your vehicles, the mods made and so on. It's a way of sharing the info.
Kevin Bond is organising for the Expedition vehicles.
Paul Myers the Motorcycles
and Helen Lloyd the Bicycles
If they don't find you, please find them
They will tell you where, if you are a two-wheeler, to bring your steeds for display and judging. Expedition Vehicles will be judged where you have them parked up.
Each of the 9 winners will have a prize - some of them so good that I'd like to keep 'em.
The prizes for the Expedition Vehicles are kindly provided by Front Runner and for the Motorcycle and Bicycles, they have been donated by Traveldri-Plus in conjunction with Wheels to Work.
Got to be in to win

I started to spread the word a few pages back but it's time to bring Kevin Turner to the top again. We are delighted that Kevin has chosen the HUBB UK to launch his new book. You'll find him the Authors and Film makers marquee in the courtyard! You are going to find some cracking travel books and films there!!! It's a great chance to have a natter with the guys too.

Ready To Roll
The setup of the event begins tomorrow afternoon and by 9am on Thursday everything will be up and running and ready to roll.
Sam and I are really looking forward to seeing you all there. A big thank you in advance to all the crew leaders and volunteers who're giving their time and energy to help make it all happen for everyone else's enjoyment.
The presentation schedule has had a couple of minor revisions since the one that's currently available to download, but you'll find the bang up-to-date version posted in various places around the Barn complex when you arrive.
And very importantly.... last year we drank the place completely dry by the end of the Saturday night. This year the venue's cellars are ready for us and include a selection of 12 different tipples for the Real Ale Bar.
Roll on Thursday

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
