Booking sorted and really looking forward to 2014. Been sharing the great HUBB 2013 video with friends on other forums, so hopefully have some newbies along next year.

Ask me about...
As registrations come in, it's always interesting to see how different people customize their event pass.
When we print the event passes, whatever you put in the "Ask me about..." box gets included. The idea is that it's a way for people to see what you're interested in, or where you've been, or where you hope to go, or things you have particular expertise with or whatever else you think will be a useful conversation starter.

Hi All,
Just a thought - this is probably just the right time to give your mates a nudge. Right time? There's now just a month left for people to snag the amazing value £45 4-day event pass before the price bumps up as usual.
If you have mates who always say 'I keep meaning to get to that.' you might like to get them to take a squint at the HUBB UK 2014 page.
And of course, don't you miss out either eh
If you have a look at the pages for 2014 you'll see that things are just beginning to fill up, and all the layout changes which are helping us all to make the 4 days even better. One of the changes you'll see is that Danny and Fil and the Fire Drums (bigger and better for 2014) are going to be on a new pitch with their Roadkill Cookout. Delighted to have the guys with us again!
A taste of things to come. Sorry.... corny...
Fancy presenting? Please sign up - share your experience or quite simply, the fun of the road.
Member of an overlanding type Club or Forum? Please get them to sign up - you'll see the link.
Want to see a particular company who stocks overlanding kit exhibiting? Please show them the 2014 page. We'd be delighted to hear from them.
And of course I'll never say no to help with getting things done at the event. Its all the people who muck in for a few hours that make some much of the amazing atmosphere at the HUBB UK happen.

I was wondering, what exactly is expected of a club stand? Should it be continuously manned? Should there be bunting, flyers, exciting vehicles and videos? After all a club gets in free so they've got to put something in in return.
And yes this does mean you might well see more Derbis in 2014.

Good question Alex.
Iain and I came up with the idea last year because the extra space at Donington allows us all to do more things. ‘Why not give clubs, forums and magazines (CFM) the chance to showcase themselves and to link up with potential new members.’
All part of the 'Connecting' side of the HUBB UK.
Bunting? If a CFM fancies, why not! Flyers, exciting vehicles and videos? Sure – anything of that ilk which can do their org. some good. For videos though the CFM would need to bring their own silent gennie.
To start with all the CFM needs to do is to bring a mini marquee. 3x3 or some such – a little more if needed. But we need to know in advance so we can make sure enough space is set aside. The pitch is free and we’ll provide a trestle table too.
Continuously manned? It doesn’t have to be but of course the more time it is manned, the more point in being there eh.
Got Derbis thoughts in mind?

In case you've not had the chance to look recently, the HUBB UK 2104 page is filling up fast.
15 people have already signed up to present!!! Don't miss out on your chance to sign up too. It's all about sharing the fun and corrupting people! Ahem 'inspiring and informing'! That's what presenters do. And next year I AM going to sit in on some of them!!!
And 10 overlanding companies have already booked in! Brilliant!

If anyone is going to the Adventure Travel Film Festival in Sherborne Dorset this coming weekend, Iain and I will both be there. Please do nab us for a natter about the HUBB UK 2014. Any ideas that we could be incorporating? We'd love to hear.

Too right Margaret. Iain will be there with Robyn, representing the HUBB UK and Horizons Unlimited. Sadly I can't make it : ( I was already booked when the date was announced. Sounds really good though!

Thanks Sam (belatedly) and yes I had Derbi thoughts in mind having had almost every attendee prod mine this year and having told everyone on the Derbi Facebook page to pull their fingers out and get along to Donnington for 2014.
I'll prod them again and see if anything stirs, just because it's a small bike doesn't mean that we can't have big dreams.

Hi Alex, great stuff! I very much hope that the Derbi guys do make it - I saw how much interest yours had! I know you have seen this article from Chris Scott but for those who didn't, methinks it makes interesting reading.

300 days to go!
There's now just a week left to register at the £45 rate - saving £30. The price per person changes up to £55 at around 9pm on Saturday 31st August, so if you plan to attend and haven't registered yet, now's the time to get a bargain.
The list of presenters keeps growing and now includes Kev Palmer, returning with more bushcraft workshops, and the mighty Dave Cornthwaite who'll be inspiring his audience with tales of expedition derring-do.
Full details and links to the registration forms are on the HUBB UK 2014 page.

Last day to register at lowest rate
It's been good to see lots of you getting your registrations in over the last few days before the discounts reduce.
A quick final reminder for anyone still planning to take advantage of the lowest rates... the cut-off for event passes with the biggest discounts is 9pm this evening (UK time - Saturday 31st August).
Visit the HUBB UK 2014 event page for full details.
