I started to spread the word a few pages back but it's time to bring Kevin Turner to the top again. We are delighted that Kevin has chosen the HUBB UK to launch his new book. You'll find him the Authors and Film makers marquee in the courtyard! You are going to find some cracking travel books and films there!!! It's a great chance to have a natter with the guys too.

Ready To Roll
The setup of the event begins tomorrow afternoon and by 9am on Thursday everything will be up and running and ready to roll.
Sam and I are really looking forward to seeing you all there. A big thank you in advance to all the crew leaders and volunteers who're giving their time and energy to help make it all happen for everyone else's enjoyment.
The presentation schedule has had a couple of minor revisions since the one that's currently available to download, but you'll find the bang up-to-date version posted in various places around the Barn complex when you arrive.
And very importantly.... last year we drank the place completely dry by the end of the Saturday night. This year the venue's cellars are ready for us and include a selection of 12 different tipples for the Real Ale Bar.
Roll on Thursday

Can i just rock up on Saturday (on a motorbike) and be able to camp the night?
Im off overland to Central Asia at the end of the month and this would be the perfect start to my first major trip!

You can't buy a one-day pass, you'll have to buy for two days - or rather one-and-a-half days as Sunday will only be a half day of events. Never quite worked out why one-day passes aren't available but that's how it is.
But yes, you can just roll up and pay on the gate. That's what I'm planning to do assuming I have enough money in my pocket on Thursday.

Bike packed ready to go
Just finished packing the Bike, didn't know she could carry all that stuff, amazing.
Volunteered to be a toilet cleaner, how sad is that - Who cares I'm still looking forward to it.
A request, I work on a ship and my nickname is Chainsaw, (Seisobs on here) no one will share a hotel room with me on crew changes because my snoring is that bad, do you have a snorers corners, preferably in the woods.
Anyway, leaving Stirling at 11 tomorrow morning, if anyone sees a GSA with a Scottish flag on the back, I wonder who that is.

Just a quickie for Iain - we met briefly at AO a couple of years ago and you suggested I give a presentation at the Hubb in 2013 but I had to do a couple of trips to Corsica on the dates in question and missed out.
At the last minute I'm joining the guys on the Land Rover Classic Campers stand on Thursday with my SWB Mini Camper and am happy to talk to anyone interested in hearing about my 45 years working in Adventure Travel in Africa and Asia. Looking forward to the craic....

We thought you guys would like to see this from ShelterBox.
'I just wanted to drop you a line to say a huge THANKYOU for picking ShelterBox as your chosen charity of the year for the HUBB UK event.
The total amount raised at the event was an amazing £4075.67!
We had some great feedback from our volunteers manning the stand who said the attendees at the event were the perfect audience. They were so well travelled they understood the issues faced in other countries and therefore could really engage with what we do here at ShelterBox.
We would be absolutely delighted to work with you again in the future, if the opportunity arises, and once again a massive thank you for nominating ShelterBox as your chosen charity of the year.
Kind Regards
ShelterBox

Hey, I tell you what I'll second that! Anytime before mid-June or after 20th July would be amazing for me.
But dont worry I'm not holding my breath; I assume it will be around the same time again, when most people expect it to be. Perfectly reasonable, just no good for me, alas

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
