Hey
I am not from the city, but hey, trains are cheap. If all are welcome I will see you there?

Wow... so many people, who'd have thought it... I'm going trans-Africa too, in April 2007 from London... and i'm giving myself a headache trying to organise routes, prep the bike (a 650 Dakar), figure out the paperwork, learn French and a little Arabic...
|
I still need to learn French and Spanish before I leave (and a smidgen of Russian) but my Arabic is pretty good now (well someone was stupid enough to employ me as an Arabic terp - anything is possible,) if you need any materials or help, I'm sure I could be of use.

Thanks for the organisation Maria (glad you didn't sit in the other corner for too long!)
Excellent idea to bring map and crayons Mark - any excuse to regress
How about a New Year gathering in January?

Hello!
The pub was a bit confusing as it was split in 2 sides, but we finally got the two groups to meet eventually!
It was nice to meet everybody.
Shells, not sure I can organise a meet in January / Feb as I have various business trips planned for that period
But anyone can start rolling the ball for that! The pub was OK, seats for everybody, no music....
See you at the next drink hopefully!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
