London Mini-Meet in January 2008
Hello everyone,
I've recently bumped into some people from the HUBB and we discussed having a little mini-meet in January.
Dotcaf (Charles) from planitearth.co.uk will be in London at that time – he's recently done the Uk-2-Oz route, and I'm sure he's got loads of stories to tell.
So: How about a mini-meet in the ACE cafe, Saturday the 19th of January. Around late morning/early afternoon?
(For those who don't know the ACE: it's on the North Circular. Link: intro

New Years mini-meet
Hey Bjorn ...... The link worked good straight off.
Yup, no worries matey you can count me in for this 'un. Am real keen to pick Charles's brains about a few parts of his route.
As you know I've scored a cheapo flight to Madeira, and gonna take the chance to catch up on some reading/running/riding. Evidently there's mo'bike/scooters available for not too much money, with one web-site showing they've got F650GS's for hire.
Anyway, before my fingers get verbal diarrrohea (sic) and bore everyone to death with drivel, will catch up with you again in the new year to confirm date, time and other details of the meeting. Will endevour to nose out an internet cafe in Funchal town, so should hopefully be able to stay in touch anyway. If I don't speak to or mail ya again before, then have a good christmas. Len

Looking forward to seeing some old faces and meeting some new ones. What kind of time will people aim for?

Grant and Susan in Rake, Jan 13
So where's Rake you ask, as did I. South of London, on the B2070 between Liphook and Petersfield.
We'll be at the Flying Bull for lunch at noon, and next door for the southern section BMW Club meeting, giving a slide show on our trip around the world.
They tell me if you want to come you're welcome.
We'll try to make it to the Ace too, but no promises.

Yep. Probably be along too.
I am easy to recognise - on an (err, umm) blue 2005 F650 Dakar!
But it does have RUS stickers on the panniers.
But I am an old git, so that makes it easier.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
