Thanks Ernie!
Don't know about anyone else, but I had a good time on Ernie's Open Day. His Overland Solutions setup is pretty good, and it was good to see some overland bikes and meet fellow travellers - those of you who met me (on the ropey yellow Bros), hello again...
So a big thanks to Ernie. Cheers mate!

I was interested in going but got no response to my email enquiry about places available. In fact I didn't get a response for a quote for some work I asked for either! Disappointing because I haven't heard anything but praise for Overland Solutions…maybe they're doing so well there's no time to check email!!

Probably best to have a look at the website and give him a ring. The best way to get work started is to have a face-to-face consultation (most weekends). I think he's only about 90mins from you.

I can't really speak for anyone else, but it does seem that Mr Overland Solutions has been getting lots of work recently.

Hey PaulJ.
I've sendt him an email too but the only respone I got was automated reply:
"Overland-Solutions.com thank you for your E-mail. I aim to process a response to you within 48 hours. If your request is urgent then please contact me on my mobile." This was in January (the 17th)...
So his stuff looks great but he has not answered my questions and I don't think it's smart to buy something from someone that doesn't answer emails. It might be a nightmare to get parts when you break down in the bush somewhere.... At least it was with Jesse-luggage.

Ernie's stuff is pretty robust and easily repairable without special parts / equipment. The Desert Riders found that the Honda welding broke before the Overland Solutions stuff.
Perhaps your message never got through? Better to phone, and then he can expect you message and answer requests immediately.

POB:
I think my mail came through, otherwise there wouldn't have been an automatic response and it looks like more people have had the same problem.
If he doesn't reply mails then he is a bit less serviceminded then people I like to do business with - it's a shame because the parts look nice (Crashbar and Reinforced Sub Frame for R80GS).

OK Ali - our experiences are different. I think he may be struggling to keep up with demand.
I hope you keep trying though. He is extremely serviceminded, and has only just started to do this stuff full time.
Give him a while and I'm sure the teething problems will be ironed out.

POB:
Hehe, right now I have used my money on something else :-)) I'll see later, my subframe still has some cracks.
But if you talk to him it might be nice to tell him about the "problem". I'm sure he will be interested.

Hi All
This does not sound like Overland solutions not to get back to you. They are busy at the moment which is a credit to the quality of work that they perform.
Did you try ringing him to chase up these requests, it sounds like your emails didn't get through to me.
Cheers
Julio

Hi guys
I am sorry if you have not had a response to an email/s that have been sent to us. .
There was an intermittent technical problem with the email system that has caused these emails to be lost in cyberspace.
We contacted the hosting company to try to find out why a number of emails had gone missing. It seems that they had problems with their servers and somehow some links had been lost and only certain emails were being forwarded. We were not notified at the time of the problems with the servers.
To make matters worse the auto responder was still sending out the notification's. We contacted them to see if they could retrieve all emails that had been sent, but they were unable to do this. We are using one of the biggest web hosting companies in Europe, which you would have expected to provide a better service.
We are busy at Overland Solution, but we always aim to respond within 48 hours to your emails.
Again, we can only apologise for these problems and if anyone else has had a similar problem, to either send us another email with your queries or give us a call and we'll be more than happy to answer any questions.
I hope this technical problem will not stop you from using our service as we pride ourselves on the quality of our work and backup service.
Regards
Ernie
P.S Paul please note that an email/quote regarding fabrications you asked for was sent to you on 13/4/02.

Thanks for the explanation Ernie. Technology can be a pain sometimes! You are right you did respond to my email about a year ago, however my plans got put on hold. I did send another email about 6 months ago regarding some work I needed doing which obviously did not get through to you and then there was an email regarding your openday which I sent about a month ago which also did not get through. This technical problem has obviously been going on a long time and if you are paying your webhost any sort of money I would be complaining quite seriously if I was you. Sounds like you could be missing out on a lot of potential business.
