Damn, didn't make it due to putting my back out on Tuesday, the thought of camping when you can't stand up straight was too much for me.

My first HU meet and certainly not my last! A great weekend with a fabulous bunch of people. Can anyone help me out though? I watched a chap on Saturday who gave a talk on his trip to Central Asia, I think his name was Paul Mercer. Paul was kind enough to answer a few of my questions and he wrote down his email address which I have now lost! Does anyone know his name on this site so I can PM him?

I cannot thank Alec from Core Racing enough for coming down to bring me some parts for my Aqualine Safari tank and on top of it all, he fitted it for me in the field.
Best customer service I've ever seen!

I'm the Colm (not "Colin") that was busy biting his tongue the entire time during Nick Sanders' un-prepared presentation.. So much for "the luck of the Irish"! It could have been any one of the Digi-volunteers that got that hour though .
I hope to see all of you again next year!

Another year another great meet!
Every year I come out of a HU meeting thinking "best ever meeting" and then come the next one, and then again it surpasses my expectations!
So once again this year I find myself thinking "Best meeting ever!". The presentations were incredible and the line-up of speakers was particularly impressive!
It was also brilliant to meet again with old friends from previous years, or few last seen on the road in South America!
Fantastic also to meet new people, make new friends...
One particular chap (don't know his name :confused1 found himself very popular with the ladies: he had a lowered XT600 that brought a lot of interest as he found himself (and his bike) surrounded by the ladies who wanted to sit on the bike! I did! So, you see, sometimes size does matter!
See you all next year!

The Stans presentaion
Hi Peak.
I saw your post where you said that you'd lost my e-mail address.
It's
paul-marie-mercer 'AT' tiscali 'dot' co 'dot' uk
Whilst I was hugely nervous about doing the presentation, I thoroughly enjoyed doing it and was a bit embarrassed at the applause!
I still consider myself a 'novice' but am planning the next jaunt.
Thanks to everyone who made the weekend another resounding success.
Cheers
Paul

Ha ha, yes Maria we were swarming around him weren't we! It certainly is a bike that i'm thinking about getting now! Just need to start saving!
I too had a great weekend, some fab presentations & as always met some great people & can't wait for the next one! Although I came away with a terrible cold & cough which I still haven't managed to shift!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
