Winter Meeting in the Cumbria / Dales Area.

In the early stages of planning a winter Camping weekend.

Dates will be the 8th 9th and 10th November .

In the past we have done 2 meeting's a year . One in Spring and one in the Winter. They have always been a well attended, and a great chance to meet new and old friend's , chat about past trips and what your plans are for the coming year.

After spending the last month or so looking for a new site we came across this site yesterday while taking a wrong turn.

We have to say it has the best view of any site we have used in the past.

Camping for the weekend will be cheap only a few pounds pppn. ( I will confirm the cost asap ) There is a full menu on site with enough seating for 50.

A road ride out with a lunch stop and a Trail ride out will be planned. Or the day can be spent indoors with a hot rum.

If your interested please post here to give us a idea on number's

More details will be posted ASAP.

Thanks Dazzer.

If I attend I hope the ABR forum posters will not be there, I do not want to hear how they have had difficult border crossings from Uk into either Wales or Scotland in the past.

Hi Darren
It's in the diary. I can lead a road ride if you want. Sat and Sun only. I have to work Friday.

Any Russians coming? They're everywhere, you know!

Hi JB. I'm sure we can find room for your Camp Van on the site

Update.

1..Road route ride out will take in some of the best Back roads in this area. It will be Ridden at a steady pace so no one gets left behind or feels the need to have to ride fast to keep up and miss out on seeing the stunning views. Plenty of photo stops and Tea drinking with a Long lunch stop.

Trail riding ....

We hope to have 2 groups. One will be a steady ride which will suit riders that just want to enjoy the area and ride some trails without it feeling like a Enduro .plenty of stops for photos and a long lunch stop.

The other trail ride will be a longer day's ride covering a Vast area taking in all the open lanes in this area. Riders in this group need to have quite a lot of experience . It's not a race but riders will be expected to keep up . There wont be many stop's apart from lunch.

The aim of the weekend is that everyone gets out on the rides ,and has a great time and all return safe for the evening get together.

Dazzer.

Sorry buddy but have had to have a change of plan for that weekend. Given the interest shown I would rather let you know now and allow someone else the opportunity to take a place. Hope its a great meet.

Cheers Ali

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
