Fuel Filter
Hi, Ive got a feeling this has been mentioned before but has the KLE500 got an inline or any fuel filter?
If not, what size is the fuel pipe from the tank so I can fit one (6mm - 8mm etc)
Mines a B6F (2006)
Thanks in advance
Roy

There might be one in the fuel tap... If not, no harm in fitting another one if you're not sure.

Hey there Roy,
there is a course filter supposedly on the intake line within the fuel tank. There is no external filter. It is a good idea, and cheap insurance, to fit one inline and replace every service.
Hope this helps.
Shaun
Just a quick update - removed the fuel tap from the tank last night to try and trackdown a coughing and spluttring problem when I switched to reserve. The fuel tap has two inlet lines, both have a (looks like) permanently attached fiter about an inch (2.5 cm) long. Cleaned these whist it was apart. From the look of them this would probably be a good thing to clean when the tank is off for other tasks, ie: plug changes. Would also pay to closely inspect the vaccuum line running to the tap for cracks and the like, as this line "opens" the tap. Mine had no power under load, would rev freely in nuetral, turns out the vac tube had tiny cracks. Replaced hose and all good again.
I will try the reserve setting when I get a chance - once out of the commute type traffic, on a quiet section of road.
Have fun out there all.
Shaun
