KLE 500 engine jerk

I have problem with my KLE 500 year 91. The engine "jerk" after throttle was pull to begin running from 1st gear...only. Means that from idle timming to around below 3000rpm or at low speed. After 1st gear and above its runs normal. Its was very unconfortable while dealing with heavy traffic condition or city ride. Anyone pls advise, TQ

This is probably a fueling issue but just what I'm not sure. As this happens at a partly open throttle setting it may be your float level is too high making it rich at small throttle opening but OK when traveling faster with bigger throttle openings. Have you just recently bought this bike? Has this surging always been there or just now started to surge. If it has always been like this since yoy bought it it's maybe and only maybe because of big main jets.
What do others suggest?

TQ BRO..for information its just happened..after I get problem with the oveflowing carb due to dirt stuck at Float Valve. When I opened the carb and I did some adjustement to the Float Lever intend to minimize the Fuel Level...Im not so sure either to twist the level Up or Down...as long as the overflowing problem solve, but i got the Jerk problem now...May be what you suggest above are correct, my Carb level are too rich..

Float level is very important so achieve smooth fuelling. It appears your carby is getting too much fuel at a small throttle opening and is "flooding". Google the carby model and you should find a measurement for setting float height. The 'Tang' pushes onto the needle which closes the 'seat' and this controls the level of fuel in the bowl. Remember the adjustments must be careful and small.
Good luck!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
