My W800 and the Grand Balkan Tour
Hello all.
I am preparing for my grand tour of the Balkans, to commence in a few weeks. I am based in istanbul at present, and have a nice new (1,300km) W800, which I am breaking in on the streets of the metropolis. I am already setting her up for the trip. I am planning to get a bash plate made, I have had luggage racks made and fitted, I have new fork springs coming (ones that will actually work, of course), decent head lamp, etc. The two things that I am still pondering on are as follows, any thoughts or experience would be appreciated:
- thinking of getting off the stock tyres and buying some Dunlop K70's - good idea, bad idea?
- the seating and pegs are all a bit cramped for a long trip - what have others with longer legs done about this?
Cheers!
Ps anyone wanting to give their nice new W800 sewing machine engine a nice voice at no cost and no damage to the engine please let me know. I sorted that one early!
