which oversize piston, KLR 650... help needed!
Hello fellow hubbers,
as my KLR was using alot of Oil I decided to grind the cylinder and buy a new piston with better rings ( less oil consumption ). I will buy a Wössner piston. The have the following sizes:
99.94 Std.
99.95 +0.01
99.96 +0.02
100.94 +1.0
101.94 +2.0
Which size should I take ? The piston I have removed was standard size. Is +0.02 enough to grind the cylinder ? Sadly I dont have instruments to meassure the size of the cylinder.
If it helps, the engine had 60 000 kms done. The Oil consumption was allready high when I bought the Bike... with 8 000 km. My mechanic said it was normal for the KLR as the piston rings pump oil into the burning chamber.
thanks alot for any help
