Somewhere near Bourke

Took this on a return trip from Tasmania (from S.E. Queensland). Great trip, great bike - never missed a beat.

Too bad Kawasaki never brought those into North America: I owned an EX-500 for four years and thought it was a great bike. I think a KLR would be a terrific bike, but of course it won't sell in the American "bigger is better" market.

My old KLE500

This is my old KLE500 (2005 reg), used it mainly for 62mile commute in all but the snow. Looking back, one of the most fun bikes I've ever had. Fitted with heated grips, stainless steel rear jack up kit (improved handling) and road tyres BT45's.
Riding a Buell nowadays but will get a KLE again one day.
Cheers, Richard.

Just added a 1994 KLE500 to my collection [the '87 KLR650 will be sold off].

Out on my first dirt ride with it.

A regular picture stop on all my bikes.

Over the weekend I managed to get my hands on a set of stainless steel throw over bag frames, a decent alloy bash plate and a Staintune muffler.
I fitted the frames and bash plate, the muffler will wait for another weekend work effort.

More dirt oriented tyres, a better rear shock, a slight lift and a high front mudguard are on the list of coming upgrades.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
