1190 heating problem
hi all out there as you all know some people have a problem with heat on legs from the ktm , I have done a bit of research re this had a thermometer 25 mm away from rear exhast went to over 50 degrees that was all I had on scale after wrapping the exhast with cabon fibre tape got this down to 35 degrees there is an aftermarket one from ktm around £290 mine e bay £20 enough for at least 4 bikes . this helped a lot although main problem seems to be heat from rear cylinder and through the triangular section in the frame .
also looked at wings panels £390 aus dollars plus postage plus taxes , also looked at the german ones on e bay £95 but not pretty .
I decuded to make my own which work and look the part these will fit 1050 1190 1290 can be plain carbon or any graphic you want and colour .
cost £80 inc postage uk sorry cant find how to put a photo on this site but if you are interested let me know and I will send details hope this helps any of you out there with this problem

Install the 1290 insulated manifold from KTM, this will solve a lot of the heat issues. Part #60405008000

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
