Inspecting a used 690 R
Hello
Currently ride an 09 f800gs and want something lighter. We are planning a trip to South America next winter and I am in lust with the KTM 690 Enduro. They come up for sale around here seldom and I have found a 2012 w 9300 kms and a Safari tank for a very reasonable price. The sellor lives kind of remotely but we may be able to meet half way over the holidays. Ususally I like to have a dealer do a PPI and check for known issues but in this case the local shop is closed over the holidays.
I am reading as much as I can but would like some thoughts on if I should take it in or can I get by without the PPI? I should get the VIN today from the sellor and will call the original dealer to see what if any work has been done on the bike.
I am moderately ok with a set of tools but by no means am a mechanic or high level DIY'er. Appreciate any advice on what I should be looking at. PO did mention he has experienced the stalling issue as he rides some tighter technical trails but he has only had the bike for 1000 kms and bought it used from a local Husky dealer that had it on consignment and aparently checked it over before selling.
Thanks in Advance
