Volunteering at the Sloth Sanctuary Costa Rica.
The title says it all really. I'm spending two weeks over Christmas/New Year volunteering at the world's only Sloth Sanctuary in Costa Rica. Sloth Sanctuary
For $30 a day I get a bed in the volunteer house, three meals a day and I get to feed, look after and generally help out with the 100 or so sloths they have in the sanctuary. It's very hands on and a great experience. Lots of photos (after all they don't run away quickly!) and a few videos on my blog at the moment.
The Dom way round
If you're travelling through Costa Rica this is a great way to spend a little time (cheaply) in an expensive country. 11KM north of Cahuita and only an hour north of the Panamanian/Costa Rican border (on the Caribbean). But email them as they only have room for 8 volunteers and are often full.
