Diesel and petrol prices Oman and Yemen

I'm about to leave the Emirates on my journey from Slovenia to Mozambique and would appreciate the info about diesel and petrol prices ahead in Oman and Yemen to know where to stock and where not to. I wouldn't like to repeat my mistake from years ago when entering Turkey from Greece believing Turkey would be extremely cheap
Thanks a lot,
DS

relax and fill up

no worries. it's cheap. not dirt cheap but really ok.

you'll pay 60 YR/liter in yemen
and 0,129 OR/liter in oman.

much better that europe, and certainly better than turkey.

enjoy,

they're both great countries; lots of miles to cover though.

Oman is very cheap for fuel, and petrol stations are pretty common, and most have one diesel pump.

That said, what way are you going? I was in Nizwa in Oman over the summer, which is on the main highway from Muscat to Salalah in southern Oman. I think fuel stops get reasonably scarce after Nizwa - and it's about 900km from Nizwa to Salalah. Maps point stations out when you get there but I think the most you'll go without fuel stations is 300km.

Adam to Haima is 320km without a petrol station. It's the longest stretch without fuel.

Hi guys,

Thanks for useful info. Does anybody have any idea about DIESEL prices in Oman and Yemen. I can stock up to 600 litres and would be really stupid to leave UAE empty if Oman is more expensive. It was a shock for me to pay 0,61 EUR/litre in Dubai after my Iranian stock (almost 100 litres for 1 EUR) ran out.

Cheers,
Tilen

Fill up in Oman, diesel is almost 1/2 the price of Dubai, when ever I go anywhere near Oman, I usually arrive with empty tanks and leave with at least 60 lts in jerry cans. For that matter Abu Dhabi is also quite a bit cheaper than Dubai.

The UAE is approx 12.40aed P/G and last time I was in Oman which was November is was still less than 7.0 aed P/G, the prices look different as it is in lts and not gallons as is the case in the UAE.

Petrol is also slightly cheaper in Oman as well, but not greatly.

Good availability of diesel in Oman, but I have never driven the coast road south of the bottom of the Wahiba.
