New to Oman
Hello folks, I'm looking for some GS or GSA riders here in Oman to meet up with.. I'm a Canadian and just moved here from the Philippines and dying to get out on the bike for a ride.. Is there a Beemer club here or only in Dubai???

Oman
Howdy from Saudi!
You are in one great country for motorcycling there in Oman, I had a week there last November and give it 5 stars. Both road and off-road look delicious. Great scenery in the mountains.
Hope you find some bikers there,
bin

Hi Andiflip,
I'm planning to come to Oman in mid Feb for a couple of years and thinking of bringing my GS 1200. Right now I'm debating in driving down from Athens, Greece, or shipping it over.
Are you still in Oman? Do you have any updated info about the riding experience around the country? Are there any other on-off riders in Oman?
I would appreciate any information you (and anyone else) may have that could help me decide on this matter (bring or buy, ship or drive etc).

Welcome to Oman
Dmitri,, have met quite a few riders here although most guys here ride Harleys or Sports bikes there are a few BMW's around.. I ride with a group consisting of 4 or 5 sports bikes and a couple of BMW's and the riding here is excellent, especially this time of year.. I don't know much about riding here from Athens but if you ship it there are no hassles with registration and if the bike is used there is no duty also.. Keep in touch and hope you can get here before the "heat"..

Andiflip, thanks for your info.
I have decided to ship my GS to Oman rather than drive. I will be arriving in Muscat by end of March. I'm planning to ship my bike after my initial visit so most likely it will be right before the "heat". I'll PM you as soon as I get there.
Cheers!

Hello adeeb, the ride from Nizwa to Salalah takes 8 to 10 hours and is boring as hell until you get close to Salalah,, it is possible to take the coast road and there is roughly 30kms of gravel road but its in pretty good condition last i heard. (maybe someone else can come in here who;s been on it lately) Sur to Quriat is all new road and follows the coast.

andiflip,
thanks for the info, however, do u know anything about the road from sur to the ferry point to masirah, last i checked the coastal road ran out half way and there was a stretch of desert which would be a problem on my gsxr, do u know if the costal road goes all the way from sur to the ferry point?
