Questions for Dubai resident bikers:

Hi

I work in Saudi but travel to Dubai from time to time. I have a Suzuki DRZ400SM.

Q:

Can I get Avon Distanzias in Dubai?

Is there a good Suzuki dealer in Dubai?

I'd be grateful for details if you know of dealers etc.

Neither Motorcycle City nor Sandstorm is aware of any Avons in the UAE.

As for Suzuki info… wait a few hours till Beddhist gets online. He rides a Suzuki and he’s here at the moment. He’ll know.

He missed us!

What hotel did you choose in chilly Amman? It's raining here, Peter brings it with him.

Yes, Beddhist is already in Sharjah. My chain was wearing so fast, I decided to just cruise through Oman, very unfortunately.

If memeory serves me right one of the dealers said they could order Avon tyres, but it's expensive. I think the dealer was called Gecko and we have a GPS waypoint for it. No dual purpose tyres in stock anywhere, though, we tried. I'm getting my Mitas tyres posted with DHL from Germany.

There is a Suzuki dealer in Dubai, but I have no idea whether it is any good. Google should find the address for you.

Sorry, I don't think I can be of much help here...

Regards,
Peter.

And it's stinking hot here.

Oh, easy: Hotel "Why don't you stay with us?" - some German development aid workers invited me.

Here the weather is now getting nicer. Had a guided tour Wadi Rum-Aquaba-Dead Sea yesterday and today (not by bike)

Cheers

Still in Oman

Hey guys,

Good to see your all back online. I am still in Sohar, and have been doing some rides around Oman. Great place to explore especially after all the rain 2 weeks ago and all the Wadi's running and the roads washed out! Was in Al Ain last weekend and had a good time there as well.

I have decided to leave here for a position in TZ so will depart in May but will try and find somewhere here to leave the bike until July when I may be able to return to ride it south to TZ.

May come to Dubai this weekend if time permits, but the motorway traffic here worries me some what! Have had 3 near misses in Oman now.....haha. I am glad these people have to go to driving school to get their licence!!

Give us a call if any of you are over here in the next weeks, it would be great to catch up.

Cheers
Ivan

Sorry to hijack your tyre thread. Still haven't heard of any Avons here.
Ivan
Did you get down to Dubai? I hope we get a chance to meet up before you leave the area. Let me know when you're around the UAE (even Al Ain). Ditto from me if I come up your way.

Stephan
