Hi Saskatoon,
As previous reply you will not find anyone in Turkey who will let you take their bike to Syria - you need a carnet for a start.
You could do the trip in reverse maybe and buy a bike in Syria - you can get a Chinese Honda CG125 copy for as little as 300 euros. You should then be able to take that into Turkey but you might have problems leaving Turkey without the bike as they will stamp it into your passport. Otherwise you could just buy a bike in Syria ride it around and sell it after finishing instead of renting.
Hope that gives some inspiration.
Cheers
Richard
ps if renting in Turkey try it from somewhere on the Med like Antalya rather than Ankara as there is a lot more choice and more price competition.
