Is there a car ferry to/from Greece to Israel
UK citizens wanting to get to Jordan in January avoiding Syria. (Even if it were safe for tourists just passing through and they were to let us in with laptops etc - wondering if it would still be o'k for the return from Jordan is not my idea of a relaxing time)
Direct to Egypt is not an option due to extortionate carnet
Alternative idea is to find secure parking for our 4x4 in Greece - then fly to Amman, and hire a car there for four weeks?

Salamis shipping Greece - Rosenfeld shipping Israel
Hi,
I just had (6 oct. 2011) the experience with the CARGO ferry (so no passengers, there are NO passengers ferry between GR and ISR from Lavrio (GR) to Haifa (ISR). In Greece you contact Salamis shipping in Pireas and deliver the bike in the port of Lavrio. (every monday, arriving in Israel on thursdays)
In Haifa it is Rosenfeld shipping which to contact.
I didn't get lot of assistance from both shippings, specially in Israel it have some issue's. contact me for more details and phonenumbers.
costs transport euro 425, portfees euro 50, insurance israel minimum 1 week euro, 60, flight Athens Tel Aviv about euro 200.

When I was riding my moto in Greece last week, I met a couple who were riding an Israel-plated Gold Wing - when I inquired how they got it to Greece, they gave me the exact same answer that is provided in the post above. They told me that the process was trouble-free.

Lorenso, do you have any idea how much a big truck would be - a Unimog camper, 12 tons, 7.5m long?

I got a response, it would be about E1530 plus Haifa port and wharfage fees to ship my U500 camper. To justify that a 6-8 week stay would be required IMHO. Thanks very much Lorenso!

Weekly based ship from Italy to Cyprius and Israel
There is a weekly based Grimaldi ship from Italy to Greece, Cyprius and Israel.
It's a Cargo & Passenger regular line.
Cars, Bikes and even trucks can be easily loaded.
