Ended up buying new flights with Iberia as Transavia could not confirm that the one we got won’t be cancelled. Kind of hoping they will cancel it now so we can get a refund.
Anyway there is a bunch of airlines from different countries now organizing evacuation flights (available to anyone who buys them). some resources below

Airarabia also had a list of flights on their website but the link was taken down maybe an hour ago.

Royal Air Maroc is preparing special flights to Italy, Spain and Canada for Saturday 4 December in addition to already announced flights to France, https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/202...pain-and-italy

Morocco's COVID Scientific committee meet today to discuss the situation, the outcome will then be reviewed at tomorrows government meetings.
The current 2 week closure ends on Monday so expect to see an update following these meetings.
Some press outlets have been publishing news that travel will resume next week but its just rumour until we hear from the government

Rumour mill on overdrive today, some news outlets reporting the Committee has recommended the reopening from Monday and others saying it will be extended. EDIT the Ministry of Health has now confirmed these reports are fake
As ever until the gov announcement don't believe anything. If things do open I very much doubt it will be a full opening of all borders and travel

I believe the Sinovac vaccine shows almost no efficacy against Omicron. I wonder if that will have an impact.

I've read the level of antibodies from two Sinovac doses plus booster is about the same as two Pfizer doses without booster, i.e. not enough to prevent most infections.
But two Pfizer doses still provides T and B memory cell defence against serious illness, and hopefully it's the same for Sinovac.
The Chinese vaccine used in Morocco is Sinopharm. I had a brief search for which countries could be using Sinovac and possibly Algeria and Libya might be on the list.

The Moroccan government has confirmed the peak of the Omicron wave has passed. Case numbers in Morocco are still declining however intensive care and ventilation numbers are expected to continue to rise for some time as those affected tend to be in hospital for an extended period.
On a very positive note, research by the US Center for Disease Control has concluded that the level of protection provided by prior infection is actually stronger than that provided by vaccine, and adding vaccine doses on top of natural protection doesn't raise it any more. Whilst the research was carried out pre-Omicron there's no reason the effect will be different and it means that widespread infection in a country, especially where there's a low level of vaccination, will provide additional protection against future waves.

Is it genuine that no test is needed for the ferry? Seems odd it’s needed for air but not sea.

By Ferry it’s either proof of vaccination OR a PCR.
By air it proof of vaccination AND PCR.
Just as odd as flights restarting weeks before ferries did
