Green Card in Dakhla
Is it possible to get Green Card insurance for my car at the Mauritanian - Moroccan border at Guerguerate? Or Dakhla?

Thanks. In the Netherlands they sometimes ask for a Dutch Control Technique certificate before you can get insurance! Bit this certificate is impossible to get when the car is out of the country for more than a year

I would call them and explain the situation
I am currently running a UK reg vehicle with Swedish insurance valid within EU.
Getting expensive now €180 for one month.
For Swedish insurance they never asked for inspection, can even have green card without.
I have seen an insurance office at the border.
The one spot in Morocco where they may give you a hard time without insurance is Dahkla junction. I forgot to print out my policy last trip and they weren't impressed by the pdf.

Are you heading north?
I went south in a Dutch van, with export plates this time last year. Absolutely no problem at all with my French insurance as far as the Mauri border then I bought insurance on entry to Mauri.
I have a feeling you're going the opposite way though ...

I tried the 2 insurance offices in Dakhla after a fortuitous escape at Dakhla junction (got that far without insurance despite various attempts to buy on the way South, got asked for it there, but my AXA-backed Paramotor Insurance certificate in German was assumed to be for the car...phew).
No luck with getting insurance in Dakhla as the 2 offices both said the other did it...
Made for a nervous return by the junction heading for Mauritania, but wasn't asked again.

Theres only one company that can issue insurance for foreign registered vehicles in Morocco.
In theory if they have an office in Dakhla then obtaining insurance should be possible. However other travellers have reported difficulty purchasing cover away from the border.
The website for the company is https://cat.co.ma/

In 2013 I made the insurance for my vehicle in Dakhla with no problem. Didn't know there was only one company issuing them for foreign vehicles. Just asked around and was quickly shown to the small gsm shop that issued insurances. Ten days later I was involved in a small accident (me as the guilty part), nothing major, just one door bent. Insurance worked! The police officer had to explain to the other part what the insurance stands for and why I am unwilling to just pay proposed 200 MAD for the repair of the damage done.
