Recent prices
Hi,
Does anyone have more recent information on current ferry prices? For a 4x4 and 2 pax. Is Carlos still the man to see? BTW I can't get any info from a ferry.com (it just says the route is unavailable for both Algeciras to Ceuta and Tangier Med). Ferries Direct (which only worked with fixed dates) came back with prices from 234 - 370 euros which seems very expensive.
Thanks a lot.

I think we paid 180euros for an open return from Carlos in October, 4x4 and 2 persons, certainly much cheaper than any online price. Drop them an email to get the latest price.
Make sure you check the paperwork carefully before leaving as both times I've used carlos there were mistakes which caused some minor issues on the return journey

23rd December 2013, purchased open return Algeciras - Tanger, no Carlos assistance, just walked into the ticket selling shops, 1 car and 1 passenger, 220 Euros.
I would have tried Carlos but to be honest I had spent the week prior to leaving the UK sorting the car as a priority, rather than booking ferries!!
I shall be trying him later in the year though

Must just be me
2012 passengers return was Ceuta to Alegerciras whereas me a the truck was Tanger Med to Algerciras, no problems on the way out but the Moroccans insisted on a new foot passenger ticket on the way back, not too bad only another 20euros
This year Carlos rushed our tickets through so we could catch the 6pm sailing including a high speed escort to the ferry which didn't leave until 7. On the way back the Moroccan pointed out that the names on the tickets were ZZZZZZ and NNNNNNN and said we'd have problems at customs. In the end we didn't have any issues. Just worth checking the paperwork before you leave the office imho.
Still got the cider and cake and a happy new year card from Carlos

AFAIK he doesn't have a website at all. Just go and the price will be ok as allways. 2p and a camper or 2p and a 4x4 around €200,= open return ticket.

JP

At Carlos, Jan 20, 2014: 2 persons and a 4x4, 200 euros open date return, Algeciras to Tanger Med. The 'fast' Acciona ferry was delayed by over two hours, and took 2 hrs to get there (as opposed to the promised 55 min or something). Carlos himself was at the embarkation terminal for this ferry and personally saw off his many clients.
He had the same price for motorhomes, as long as there's no trailer.

Fast or Superfast?
Hi Folks,
Be aware that TangerMed is only served by conventional ferries and the "fast ferries" which can take 90-120 minutes. The "superfast ferries" ie 55min seacats only sail to Ceuta. (And Tarifa-TangerVille).
The fast ferries take a lot of freight traffic so take longer to load and unload and may depart much later than scheduled.
Happy trails,
Peter

I emailed Carlos a few days ago and got a quote of 200 euro for a 4x4/2 people, open return valid for 12 months, sailing to either Tanger Med or Ceuta. Actually his response referred to a camping car but I assume the price is the same or less for a 4x4.

Came back last week Tangier-Med - Algeciras. Just went to the nearest ticket booth at the port and got a single for myself and the 4x4 for 105 Euro's on the midday sailing with Balearia, I thought it was the best ship by far on that route.
