There's a really helpful thread in the Morocco forum

It is possible to travel to Morocco, either by air or via a ferry from Genoa or Sete. All options need a negative PCR test and a Hotel booking.

No news on Spanish ferries yet but you can leave via a ferry to Spain once a week

Peter Gray (who used to own Wilderness Wheels in Ouarzazate) and Peter Buitelaar both flew into Morocco in the last two weeks and are touring with a small group of biking friends at the moment. Peter B relates that all goes very much like normal except for mask in public and a curfew. Free to move about. All restaurants and shops are open though this might not be the case in places that depend heavily on tourists.

I'm contemplating visiting in Jan/Feb but will obviously prioritise being in the UK for vaccinations.

Notes from good friend in Morocco today don't paint a too encouraging picture.

Many hotels and campsites still closed, an expectation that the SOE will be extended again next week (not a surprise) and he's not expecting to see a real return to overland tourism until Spring or autumn next year.

If any of this happens it will further the devastation to Morocco's hard hit tourism industry, loosing over 12 months of trade will see effects for a long time afterwards.

On a more positive note the MDC team are completing recces for the spring race, indicating they expect to run next years.

Still a complete lack of information on the spanish ferries and why they are still not allowed to run passenger services. There has been some political differences between Spain and Morocco that came to a head this year but not sure if that is continuing the delay in resuming ferry services

Death rate has been climbing steadily since July. Now late November it appears it may have peaked. https://www.worldometers.info/corona...untry/morocco/

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
