CHINA Sanya / Hainan Bike Meeting May 2017

1st. Sanya / Hainan Bike Meeting (2017) ~ don't look for the TBR team as prefer a relaxed ride alone gettin' away from the daily circus....

Mayfest (or Maifest in German) is the traditional German celebration of the arrival of spring. Mayfest is still celebrated throughout Germany with the Maibaum (Maypole) decorated to show off the history and crafts of the town. It is similar to Oktoberfest, has now become a popular celebration throughout the world.

Well, might affect the planned biker meeting at the "Beer Factory" in above post ~ time of the year again with the big annual BOAO FORUM http://english.boaoforum.org around Tropical Island Hainan and here we go again with apparently enforced upcoming bike & truck bans and restrictions. Last official serious crackdown around Sanya city and Yalong Bay happened during March 2013 just before the above mention annual forum.

Hainan Island capital city Haikou very strictly implemented a "No Motorcycle" ban around the extended city limits approx. two years ago and lets see how the Southern Island city of Sanya will enforce the new regulations in the long term, some sort of motorbike restriction signs have been around Sanya city for many years but nobody cared or really enforced the rules....

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
