HU Travellers Meeting Mexico and USA South
This year's event is in the fantastic Copper Canyon, Mexico. Great riding country, all sorts of rides for all levels of rider, cultural events, and a chance to meet the Tarahumara. Details and sign up on the Meetings page.
This is a great chance to meet up with motorcycle TRAVELLERS, with slide shows on all sorts of places, including Grant and Susan's show (yes we'll be there!) on "How you can do it yourself," and more.
You do not want to miss this! So sign up now on the Meetings page!
We will be arranging group rides down as well, making it easy to cross the border!

Hi Grant,
I would like to go but Oct. 31st is hard for me to make since I have children that participate in Halloween activities.
Is 10/17 - 10/19 a possibility? It is on the front side of the BMW Rally and may not pose as many conflicts for riders with young children?!?
Sincerely,
JD

Hi,
Sorry, hadn't thought about Halloween! And no, it's way too late to change the date, lots of people already locked in.
BUT we will certainly think about it for next year, thanks for bringing it to our attention. We're still figuring out this whole rally thing, and scheduling - this year - nine of them around the world is an interesting challenge. In most of the world Halloween is a non- or minor event, it's only Canada and USA that it matters, and I don't have kids, and have only been "home" in Canada for two out of the last 17 years, so never thought of it.
Hope you figure a way out and get there anyway, or perhaps next year! Of course there's also Revelstoke...

I noticed this on the Copper Canyon meeting page:
"For those off road guys, you may be able to ride a dirt road from Copper Canyon to Alamos on the Pacific coast. I know folks who have done it, but the road is sparsely maintained and may be subject to wash outs. This is supposed to be a hoot to do."
I rode a good deal of this road recently with a loaded KLR and 80-20 street bias tires and it´s really in pretty good condition. The loggers keep it pretty much open. The only problem you´re likely to hit is if it rains the rivers fill fast and the rock stretches get (very) slippery. As for it being a hoot... yea.. it is.

Thanks for the info Ian! I've added it to the Mexico Meeting page.
And as for JD - he DID make it to the Revelstoke Meeting and had a good time!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
