New Adventure/Trail Bike and Pre1986 Enduro Bike Rally Raid for 2012
Hi all, we are looking into running a UK based Rally Raid in 2012 proposed details outlined below:
- 2 day event for riders of adventure bikes, large trail bikes and pre 1986 enduro bikes with a competitive element.
- The chance to legally ride the forest tracks and trails normally out of bounds.
- Test your bike control skills against other competitors.
- Competitive elements based around adventure riding/travel skills.
- Team and solo entries available.
- Ride with our guest riders, some of the countries if not the worlds best known and admired independent adventure riders.
- Full event support/ back up provided in the entry.
- Organised and run by an experienced team of event organisers with many years at both National and International level.
This event is aimed at those who wish to try their hand at something more competitive but don't want to go on a full blown competitive rally or enduro. With more and more pukka enduro bikes now entering UK Rallies some of these events are becoming more speed orientated and often off putting for the less experienced off road rider. We are offering you the chance of another type of competition where being the fastest rider won't automatically make you the winner.
To register your initial interest please drop me a line to retroenduro@gmail.com and we will keep you up to date on all the news and developments for this exciting new event.

Entry regulations/ rules
Hi Mister Fox,
Thanks for your interest in our event.
We will be publishing the event regulations once we have them finalised and approved. They will be based along the lines of current UK Rally regulations. This will be required to satisfy the requirements and guidelines laid out by our insurance company.
Bike eligibility: Road legal machines with some off road capability.
Adventure type bikes - i.e. BMW GS, Yamaha XT, KTM Adventure.
Trail type bikes - i.e. Suzuki DR, Yammaha TT, Honda XR.
Pre 1986 enduro bikes - i.e. Yamaha IT, Suzuki PE, Husqvarna WR.
Rider eligibility: Riders holding a valid driving licence. A competition day licence will be available for this event.
At this stage we are looking for expressions of interest as opposed to commitment.
If you drop me a line to retroenduro@gmail.com we will keep you up to date with all the latest news.
Thanks again for your interest in our event.
Best wishes Sam Davidson.

up for anything where the focus is on taking part and enjoying yourself, it would be nice to have an event where part of the rules state that you have to ride to the event and carry everything you need to camp and survive.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
