Touratech travel event 2017
It is a shame that this excellent event has not been announced again this year.
Same happened in 2016
Herbert and Jochen will be disappointed.
For those interested in going, the dates are from 9th to 11th June 2017. only some 12 days away
It is free to attend and camping is free too.
Interestingly, Yamahas' T7 will be there too.
Location
Touratech page is here
Enjoy!

Personally I'm not surprised, and for me I found it (unfortunately)a complete waste of time ( except 2014 when Grant and Susan were presenting). For three years I represented HU at this meeting, and rode down ( 650k's each way), with a bike loaded with specially printed literature and displays, and put up a show. The site at Orange is huge and so spread out that exhibitors look lost. There is no wi fi/internet there, so exhibitors with websites ( viz HU) can't demonstrate their wares, and attendances have dropped hugely. Someone has a habit of counting everyone twice or three times to con people into thinking it's a huge event. The PA system is dreadful and very very loud. In 2015 some major presenters didn't turn up, and others like Jacques Albohair only had two/three people to talk to. After we had lunch together on the Saturday ( there was not a single visitor to the HU tent on the Saturday afternoon, and only 5 people popped in to enquire or say hello, the whole w/end), we counted the number of vehicles in the visitors car park. There were 48 bikes and perhaps 6 cars, and only one or two arrivals in the afternoon. There were more exhibitors than visitors. Some exhibitors packed up and went home on Saturday night, and even BMW broke down their exhibit on Sunday morning! We didn't attend in 2016.
It's a shame really, and I spoke to Yvon Bodelot about it at the HU meeting in September 2016, He is very aware that things aren't satisfactory, and that the formula and venue he has been using for the last 15 years perhaps needs change. Moving the dates of the event might help this year, but I'm not convinced things will change that much.
Saturday afternoon at Touratech travel event 2015

Ahem...
Pongo- if you READ my post, ... and clicked on the links I provided to both the Touratech Event page and Google Maps...
you'll find that I was referring to the upcoming yearly main Touratech Travel Event in Niedereschach GERMANY
It is so massively attended that they have had to open up both fields at the rear of the main buildings for the last few years. Too many activities to list here and as for the lovers they will find a huge choice of excellent German liquid amber there too.
but do read up on above links.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
