Chris,
I am not sure you will find anything.
I have used Mapsurce World map but is not much better than the base map. You could use Woldmap with Wondereast and that is about the best I can find. wondereast V1.6 has towns and vilages but no roads.
Smellybiker's Wanderlust Worldmap • Index page
The info above is based on Mapsource V7 and World map V3.01, so I am not sure if the the later versions are any better.

I was in Albania six times - beautifull country and wery hospitable peoples - in mountains.
The best printed map is there: BS-MapShop // digitale Karten
It is also for OziExplorer.
My GPS data: www.WEBER.cz | Dokumenty
My recomendation for Albania, but only in Czech languague:
TRASY
For Garmin is very good map WanderLust Map:
Smellybiker's Wanderlust Worldmap • Index page
But if you only transit to Greece you not need any map. I recomend you to go from Vlore by coast road to Sarande.

GPS Basemap for Albania
Hi,
I am a Peace Corps volunteer in Albania. I do a lot of work with GIS and recently compiled a Garmin basemap for Albania. It has village level data, commune and municipality boundaries, and elevation. Unfortunately, it does not have roads in it. The GIS data that I have is rather inaccurate for roads, and I have been working to rectify it. I hope to get a newer version out soon. The next release will have major and minor bodies of water and roads in addition to what is already in the product. The mapset can be downloaded via the link below. I hope to have the new version out in September or October. It just depends how the tracing goes!
Albania Geopolitical Mapset - BunkerWiki
Additionally, I recently acquired a complete set of Russian topo maps for all of Albania. They are online and can be accessed through the following interface.
Google Maps JavaScript API Example
While the maps are a bit old, it is interesting, sometimes there will be a house in the middle of the road, and the road just ends!!, they are interesting and better than anything else that I have been able to find.
Hope this is useful, and if you are in Albania, give me an e-mail, perhaps we can meet up for a coffee.
Cheers!
Paul

traveling to albania
Mastinpe,
I am traveling to Albania next month and have been looking online for GPS maps of the country. I have not yet purchased a GPS unit, but am considering buying a Garmin Nuvi GPS. Would your map set work with this line, or would it only work with the GPSmap 60CSx type models? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Sorry, not sure if it will work with any other GPS units. If anyone trys it out, and it does, please let me know! I do not see why it would not work, but you never know!!

Paper & digital map of Albania
The best road map I could find at present was the following: Albanien (1:220.000) Reise Know-How Verlag online
Unfortunately the text on the website is only in German, but it might be interesting for you to contact them for their digital map of Albania which can be utilized with OziExplorer, TTQV, Fugavi.
I've been travelling small backroads in Albania this year and consider the map to be quite exact. The bigger problem was missing road signs, esp. when riding really small sideroads. But there are always helpful people around

Updated Albania GPS Basemap
I just wanted to drop a note to let everyone know that I have compiled a more up to date version of the GPS basemap for Albania. It now contains roads and water bodies in addition to the previous data. It can be downloaded from the same location, Albania Geopolitical Mapset - BunkerWiki.
Cheers,
Paul

Hi Paul!
I think the above link Albania Geopolitical Mapset - BunkerWiki is no longer available for that download. Is there anything i can do to download/find a map for Albanian roads?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
